Die positiven Effekte eines vermehrten Obst- und Gemüsekonsums auf das kardiovaskuläre Risiko sind in der Allgemeinbevölkerung gut bekannt. Eine US-amerikanische Arbeitsgruppe untersuchte jetzt in der CARDIA- (Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults) Studie die Ernährungsgewohnheiten einer Kohorte junger Menschen und die Auswirkungen auf den koronaren Kalziumgehalt nach 20 Jahren.
