Nackenschmerzen – Bedeutung und Behandlung von Funktionsstörungen[*]

Unter Nackenschmerzen versteht man Beschwerden in dem Gebiet, das nach oben durch die Linea nuchalis superior, nach unten durch den ersten Brustwirbel und seitlich durch die schultergelenksnahen Ansätze des Musculus trapezius begrenzt wird [1] [2]. Als Synonyme werden auch die Begriffe Zervikalneuralgie, HWS-Syndrom, zervikozephales Syndrom, Zervikobrachialsyndrom und Zervikalsyndrom gebraucht. Zeitlich erfolgt die Einteilung in der Regel als akut (0–3 Wochen Dauer), subakut (4–12 Wochen), chronisch (> 12 Wochen) und rezidivierend (beschwerdefreies Intervall max. 4 Wochen).
