Robert F. Dempsey, MD, FACS, FAAP

I want to thank Dr. Dempsey for serving as guest editor for this issue of Seminars in Plastic Surgery and the outstanding group of authors he has invited to contribute to this issue on the “Revision Plastic Surgery.”

Robert F. Dempsey, MD, FACS, FAAP, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He works as a craniofacial & pediatric plastic surgeon at Texas Children's Hospital.

He was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH where he also received his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed Residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at The University of Alabama Birmingham. He completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Dempsey is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who specializes in pediatric craniofacial plastic surgery as well as general pediatric plastic surgery. He is experienced in cleft lip and palate reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, adolescent breast and gynecomastia reconstruction, as well as general reconstructive plastic surgery. He has active research interests in cleft and craniosynostosis surgery outcomes as well as resident and fellow education.
