Health Hazard Appraisal (HHA) is a technique providing quantitative assessment of health risks assumed by individuals. This paper describes the structure and operation of CHAMP, a modularized computer package designed for widespread use of HHA. Thus its design incorporates stringent criteria which include flexibility, expandability, adaptability to varied populations, error corrective capability, and low-cost operation. The experience with CHAMP in service has been excellent.

Die Einschätzung von Gesundheitsrisiken ist eine Technik, die eine quantitative Festsetzung von Gesundheitsrisiken ermöglicht, denen der Einzelne unterworfen ist. In dieser Arbeit werden Aufbau und Betrieb von CHAMP, einem modular angelegten Programmpaket, das zur breiten Anwendung für die Abschätzung von Gesundheitsrisiken bestimmt ist, beschrieben. Seine Planung beinhaltet strenge Kriterien in bezug auf Flexibilität, Erweiterungsmöglichkeit, Anpassungsfähigkeit an verschiedene Populationen, Fähigkeit zur Fehlerkorrektur und billigen Betrieb. Bei der Anwendung von CHAMP wurden hervorragende Erfahrungen gemacht.
