Summary

Non-motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease (PD) are still often underdiagnosed and therefore not adequately treated. The Non-motor Symptoms Questionnaire (NMSQuest) und der Non-motor Symptoms Scale (NMSScale) are two scales which assess the majority of possible non-motor symptoms. The NMSQuest is a short screening tool for non-motor symptoms, that can be completed by the patients while they are waiting to be seen. During the clinic consultation those symptoms identified can be explored further and quantified using the NMSScale. There are additional scales available for the evaluation of individual non-motor symptoms.
