Objective: The surgery of the orbit could be challenging and the intraorbital content is difficult to approach even if only biopsy is needed. Instead of open neurosurgical, laryngological or maxillofacial approaches, the endoscopic techniques are offered to minimize surgical trauma.

Methods: The retrospective review of 72 patients who underwent an intraorbital endoscopic surgery in years 2006 to 2016 in the Department of Neurosurgery, Medical University of Bialystok was made. The patients were operated for different pathologies including: tumors, abscesses, foreign bodies and different ophthalmopathies.

Results: Different endoscopic approaches to the middle, inferior, lateral, and superior compartment of the orbit were successfully performed and the preoperatively stated aim of the surgery was achieved.

Conclusion: Endoscopic approaches to the intraorbital pathologies could be an effective, less invasive alternative to classic open surgical technique.
