Cnicus Benedictus L. (family: Asteraceae/Compositae), also known as Blessed Thistle, is a well-known traditional medicinal plant with application in indigenous medicine of many countries as tonic, stomachic and antiseptic [1]. Ten compounds including sequiterpenoids and flavonoinds with and without sugar moieties were isolated and identified from the MeOH extract of the aerial part of C. Benedictus. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive analyses of spectroscopic data including 1D, 2D NMR, and HRESIMS.
