Längst ist bekannt, dass regelmäßige Bewegung vor chronischen Krankheiten schützt, das Gesamt-Mortalitätsrisiko senkt und ein enormes präventivmedizinisches Potential hat, vor allem auch im Hinblick auf die Genese von Tumorerkrankungen [1]. Gesunde Sportler haben nach neuesten Erkenntnissen sogar mehr entzündungshemmende, regulatorische T-Zellen im Blut als untrainierte Gesunde [2]. Allerdings nutzt gerade mal 1/3 der Europäer die Empfehlungen der WHO zur körperlichen Aktivität für den daraus resultierenden Überlebensvorteil, von dem sogar Aktive mit anderen Risikofaktoren profitieren. Dabei sinkt das allgemeine Mortalitätsrisiko um 14% und unsere Lebenserwartung steigt um 3 Jahre, wenn wir allein 15 min Sport am Tag betreiben. Ziel des folgenden Beitrages ist es, einen Überblick über den aktuellen Stand und die häufigsten Auswirkungen von körperlichem Training auf das Immunsystem zu geben.
