Zusammenfassung
Die starke Zunahme von Alzheimer in den letzten Jahrzehnten verlief nicht parallel zur Altersentwicklung, sondern zur Veränderung externer Faktoren wie dem Konsum industriell verarbeiteter Lebensmittel und der Aufnahme neurotoxischer Substanzen. Die Ernährung kann je nach Zusammensetzung die Pathomechanismen von Alzheimer auslösen oder auch protektiv wirken, wie verschiedene Vitamine und Fettsäuren dies tun.
