Zusammenfassung

Akutstress stimuliert die Anpassungsleistung des Gehirns maximal durch schnelle Ejektion von Noradrenalin, Adrenalin und Cortisol im Hinblick auf maximale Perzeption und Forcierung der wichtigen stresshemmenden Entscheidungen. Chronischer Stress ist hingegen mit psychischen und neurobiologischen Veränderungen verbunden. Sie führen zum Neuronenuntergang, Volumenverlust, insbesondere in den für die Memoryleistung wichtigen Hippocampus und für die Stressinhibition bedeutenden medialen präfrontalen Kortex.
