Extract of the aerial parts of Chenopodium ambrosioides (Chenopodiaceae) growing wildly in Egypt was subjected to antioxidant-guided fractionation. The ethyl acetate fraction was found to be the most active fraction. Further phytochemical investigation of this fraction afforded two new flavone glycosides; scutellarein-7-O-rhamnosyl (1→2) rhamnosyl (1→2) rhamnoside 1 and scutellarein-7-O-rhamnosyl (1→2) rhamnoside 2. In addition, the in vitro antioxidant activities of the total alcoholic extract, ethyl acetate and chloroformic fractions of the plant and isolates were studied.
