New anthraquinones with in vitro binding affinity for cannabinoid receptors from Asphodelus microcarpus
Bioassay guided fractionation of the ethanolic extract of Asphodelus microcarpus Salzm.et Viv. (Xanthorrhoeaceae or Asphodelaceae) resulted in the isolation of four new compounds identified as asphodosides A-D. The isolated metabolites showed high binding affinity to cannabinoid receptors (subtype CB1 and CB2).
