The use of DOSY in the structure elucidation of a Hawaiian deep water sponge metabolite
Antioxidant and proton nmr screening of extracts derived from sponges found growing in the twilight zone around Hawaiian Island of Maui yielded an unusual compound that appears to be a conjugation between a terpene (1) and a small alkaloid (2). DOSY spectroscopy revealed that in solution the two entities exist free from one another.
