Kieferorthopädische Therapie im parodontal reduzierten Gebiss
Orthodontic therapy with reduced periodontal supportPublication History

Due to the absence of evidence based concepts for the therapy of periodontal reduced patients the therapy of such patients is a challenge for the orthodontic team. Attachment loss modifies the biomechanical features and must be considered in the treatment plan. The simulation of tooth movement in Finite-Element-Method models with reduced periodontal support would make the treatment more predictable. In this article we present such a model, simulating an intrusive tooth movement and compare it to a periodontal healthy model.
