Bedeutung von Formuladiäten bei Typ-2-Diabetes

Zusammenfassung

Neue Hypothesen gehen davon aus, dass der Typ-2-Diabetes durch eine basale Hyperinsulinämie ausgelöst wird. Bariatrische Operationen, aber auch Formuladiäten führen zu einem schnellen Absinken der basalen Insulinproduktion noch bevor eine signifikante Reduktion des Körpergewichts zu beobachten ist. Formuladiäten bieten daher ein bisher ungenutztes Potenzial in der Diabetestherapie, durch die schnelle Verbesserung der Stoffwechsellage bei den Betroffenen einen Motivationsschub für eine erfolgreiche Änderung des Lebensstils auszulösen.
