Die extrakorporale Membranoxygenierung (ECMO) kann bei lebensbedrohlichem Lungenversagen den Gasaustausch unterstützen. Ihren Einsatz bei ALI (acute lung injury) im Rahmen einer H1N1-Infektion (sog. Schweinegrippe) hat nun die Arbeitsgruppe um Alberto Zangrillo untersucht.
