Gerade Kinder mit chronischer Hepatitis B haben ein sehr hohes Risiko, schwere Leberschäden zu entwickeln und schließlich daran zu versterben. K. F. Murray et al. wendeten bei ihnen nun Tenofovir-Disoproxil-Fumarat (Tenofovir-DF) an, ein Prodrug von Tenofovir, das sich bei Erwachsenen als sehr effektiv erwiesen hat.
