Ein 67-jähriger übergewichtiger Patient mit fortgeschrittenen Arthrosen beider Hüft- und Kniegelenke ohne weitere ernste Erkrankungen wird für 3 Wochen in eine Rehabilitationsklinik aufgenommen, um seine deutlich eingeschränkte Beweglichkeit und die ständigen Schmerzen zu lindern. Der aufnehmende Arzt verordnet eine Kombination aus gelenkorientierter Krankengymnastik in der Gruppe, Ernährungsberatung, progressiver Muskelrelaxation, klassischen Massagen, Akupunktur und Moorbädern. Letztere stellen ein besonders wirksames Therapiemodul dar.
