Zusammenfassung

Apraxie ist eine unter Patienten nach Schlaganfall weit verbreitete kognitiv-motorische Störung, die auch bei verschiedenen neurodegenerativen Erkrankungen auftreten kann. Sie beeinträchtigt sowohl die Aktivitäten des täglichen Lebens als auch das Erlernen motorischer und kommunikativer Fertigkeiten. Eine angemessene Behandlung sollte eine vorrangige therapeutische Aufgabe des Neurorehabilitationsprogramms sein. Tim Vanbellingen beschreibt die klinische Erscheinungsform der Apraxie, die ihr zugrunde liegende neurale Basis, den Genesungsprozess sowie aktuelle, erfolgreiche Behandlungsmethoden und bietet somit einen Überblick über das Krankheitsbild Apraxie.
