Significance
The authors report a highly enan-tio- and diastereoselective rhodium(I)-catalyzed addition of arylboroxines to bis-sulfamyl imines. Hayashi’s chiral diene ligand is utilized to afford moderate to good yields with generally excellent enantioselectivities across a broad range of aryl imines. The authors demonstrate the synthetic versatility of their protecting group strategy via heating in aqueous pyridine to afford two moles of the branched amine.
