Abstract
The catalytic Sonogashira coupling reaction of terminal alkynes and aryl halides is developed using copper(II) oxide nanoparticles as catalyst in dimethyl sulfoxide. The procedure is experimentally simple, general, efficient, and free from addition of external cocatalysts or chelating ligands.
