Significance
A direct synthesis of boronic acids via palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl chlorides with tetrahydroxydiboron [B2(OH)4] is described. Additionally, the prepared arylboronic acids can be transformed into the corresponding trifluoroborates and boronic esters.
