Zäkozäkale Invagination – Diagnose durch Sonografie
Cecocecal intussusception – diagnosis by the use of ultrasonographyPublication History
Publication Date:

Summary
Intussusception of the cecum is the most common cause of cecal obstruction in the horse. Young horses (< 3 years) appear to be at an increased risk. Intestinal parasites and other agents that are altering the motility of the gastrointestinal tract have been implicated as potential risk factors. Colic signs vary from severe acute abdominal pain requiring immediate surgical intervention to chronic, intermittent colic. As a very helpful diagnostic tool ultrasound can lead to a diagnosis before a diagnostic laparotomy is made.
