Die Therapie einer Anämie infolge chronischer Niereninsuffizienz muss effektiv und sicher sein. Vor allem die Schwankungen des Hämoglobinspiegels (Hämoglobin: Hb) und das Ansprechen auf eine Therapie mit Erythropoese stimulierenden Arzneimitteln (ESA) scheinen sicherheitsrelevante Faktoren zu sein. Welche Konsequenzen sich daraus für die Therapie ergeben, diskutierten internationale Experten im Rahmen des Roche-Satellitensymposiums anlässlich des World Congress of Nephrology 2009 in Mailand.
