Summary
The results of healing of femoral neck fractures depends on the stability of the fracture, its alignment and the position of the stabilising element. Model experiments were carried out on cadavers and the criteria for evaluating the results and for the position of the metal implants were defined. If radiographic control during operation is carried out in two planes which are not exactly perpendicular to each other, a satisfactory position of the metal implant may be simulated. Rotating vector fluorography using an image intensifier will avoid this error.
