Summary
Two male patients aged 50 and 44 years with dysplasia spondyloepiphysaria tarda are described. Clinically they present with gradual reduction in height and diffuse joint and muscle pain. Radiologically, there were prominent changes in the spine. Estimation of acid glycosaminoglycane (AGAG) in the urine showed normal results in the older patient. In the other patient, total excretion was normal, but there was an increase of the lower sulphurated fraction and reduction of the higher sulphurated AGAG. Chromosome analysis in one patient showed a normal male chromosome pattern.
