Zusammenfassung

Panoramix-Röntgengeräte ermöglichen über den üblichen Anwendungsbereich hinaus Panoramaprojektionen des Mittelgesichtes und der Stirnhöhlen. Die etwas ungewohnte Darstellung der anatomischen Strukturen wird erläutert. Beispiele einer Tumordestruktion sowie von Mittelgesichtsfrakturen sind angefügt. Für mehrere Fachgebiete ergeben sich weitere diagnostische Möglichkeiten.

Summary

The Panoramix apparatus permits a panoramic projection of the middle third of the face and of the frontal sinuses in addition to its more usual applications. The somewhat unfamiliar appearances of the various anatomical structures are described. Examples of destruction by tumours and of midfacial fractures are given. This provides improved diagnostic facilities in a number of situations.
