Significance
The target molecule is a cathepsin S inhibitor and a lead for the treatment of immunological disorders. The synthesis depicted is operationally simple, high-yielding, and chromatography-free. Because of its high molecular weight (699 Da) and polarity, purification of the target molecule was challenging.
