Significance

The zoanthamine alkaloids, a family of marine metabolites, have a novel array of structures and show potential anti-osteoporotic properties. The synthesis of norzoanthamine and zoanthamine has been previously published by the same group and now a route to zoanthenol has been completed by using a tautomerization strategy from the manipulation of a previously prepared precursor for the other natural products.
