Trifluoromethylation of Aryl Iodides Catalytic in Copper

Significance

Selective introduction of a CF₃ group is a quite important reaction for medicinal and agricultural chemistry. Herein, an efficient, copper-catalyzed reaction of aromatic trifluoro­methylation is disclosed. The catalyst is inexpensive and readily available. The reaction proceeds efficiently for a broad scope of substrates under mild conditions. A variety of functional groups are tolerated.
