Significance

The authors report syntheses of various bis-benzofurans via a two-fold palladium-mediated intramoleular cyclization reaction. Also reported are syntheses of bisbenzoxepines and bisbenzoxocines from two-directional ring-closing metathesis reactions. These facile and efficient ­reactions have potential applications in organic electronic materials.
