Abstract

Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is a diagnostic multi-modality tool. It provides valuable information about myocardial function, morphology and tissue characterization. Cardiomyopathies are diseases of the heart with a broad spectrum of morphological and functional alterations. CMR offers differential diagnosis as well as prognostic information in these diseases and thus can guide specific treatment.
