Abstract

The chemical examination of the leaves of Cassia auriculata L. has led to the isolation of three new higher fatty alcohols, a sterol and an anthraquinone pigment using column Chromatographie technique of the petroleum ether extract. The chemical structures of these higher alcohols have been assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, NMR and oxidation studies.
