Summary

The importance of visual records in recto-sigmoidoscopy is stressed by the authors. Slides or films should be taken even in simple procedures like sigmoidoscopy not only for documentation of the patient's illness, but also in follow-up studies, for clinical research and for teaching purposes. By using telescopically controlled endoscopy a field of vision of 60 provides optimal information.
