Summary

In the author's opinion coloscopy is indicated for multiple occurring polyps and suspicion of secondary carcinomas (for their exact localization), for colitis ulcerosa, colitis Crohn, polyposis coli and intestinal tuberculosis, in order to survey the spread of the lesion. A tissue sample from the focus for a histological immediate-section examination and to eliminate or demonstrate the malignancy of the process is always recommended. The methodology of coloscopy is described.
