Abstract

Both secretin and pancreozymin weakly stimulate lipolysis in chicken adipocytes while gastrin inhibits glucagon-stimulated lipolysis. Pure porcine gut glucagon-like immunoreactivity (GLI) did not stimulate lipolysis and impure extracts of pig, chicken and duck intestine did not have a lipolytic action which could be attributed to GLI. Hence the gut GLI from these species does not appear to stimulate lipolysis.
