Significance

Chemo-enzymatic dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) of racemic substrates is a concept first introduced in the 1990s. Since then, several highly efficient protocols have been published. Still, the resolution of β-haloalcohols has not received wide attention. This report represents the first chemo-enzymatic resolution of β-haloalcohols which provides access to enantioenriched epoxides.
