Die retroperitoneale Residualtumorresektion nach Chemotherapie ist Bestandteil des erfolgreichen multimodalen Therapiekonzepts bei metastasierten malignen Keimzelltumoren des Hodens. Bei über 60% der Patienten in dieser Gruppe finden sich entweder noch vitale Karzinomanteile (ca. 10%) oder residuelle Teratome. Seminome müssen nach Chemotherapie nur selten operiert werden.
