Digital Health Applications in der Neurologie und Psychiatrie
Digital health applications in neurology and psychiatryZUSAMMENFASSUNG
ABSTRACT
Background Digital applications continuously provide health information that can support both patients and healthcare providers. Digital Health Applications (DiGA) aim to harness the potential in Germany.
Aim The aim of this work is to present currently available DiGA in the field of neurology and psychiatry, and to compare them with the potential of digital applications.
Materials and Methods Information about available DiGA from the application directory of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) is presented and critically discussed.
Results DiGA in neurology and psychiatry enable psychotherapeutic interventions and cognitive behavioral therapy. Wearable sensors and artificial intelligence are rarely integrated. Common neurological indications are not yet covered, and care providers are insufficiently integrated.
Discussion DiGA are a first step toward digitally assisted neurology and psychiatry. However, f urther efforts are needed to cover the need for innovative, digital solutions and to ensure efficient integration into care.
