Zwar ist das Aufrechte Glaskraut nicht durchsichtig. In der heutigen Phytotherapie wird es jedoch kaum noch wahrgenommen. Früher wurde es wegen seiner wundheilenden und harntreibenden Wirkungen geschätzt und in vielen Gärten angebaut. Heute interessiert sich die Forschung fast ausschließlich für sein allergenes Potenzial. Dennoch ist es interessant, sich mit dieser fast vergessenen Heilpflanze auseinanderzusetzen.
