Aortic Valve Regurgitation – Can We Help More Patients with Interventional Therapy Options?
Abstract
Severe symptomatic aortic valve regurgitation is often not easy to diagnose and in a relevant proportion of patients it is not yet sufficiently well treated. In this context, patients at higher surgical risk may also benefit from aortic valve replacement. With the advancement of interventional therapy options, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is now a therapeutic option that should also be considered. This may make it possible to provide older and sicker patients with adequate and necessary therapy for aortic valve insufficiency.
-
