Introduction

Lipid keratopathy can result from corneal sterile infiltration with neovascularization, and can be secondary to stromal corneal herpes, other corneal diseases, trauma, contact lens wear, or systemic diseases [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].

In 2017, Maruyama et al. [6] reported two cases of peripheral corneal opacity that developed after treatment with brimonidine tartrate (BT). BT ophthalmic solution, a topical α2-adrenoreceptor agonist, has been used for glaucoma therapy. To date, four reports including eight cases with corneal opacity induced by BT use have been described in Japan [6], [7], [8], [9].

Here, we present a case of a 77-year-old woman with unilateral lipid keratopathy mimicking corneal opacity induced by BT.
