Propriozeption – Der „sechste Sinn“ und seine Störungen
Proprioception – The Sixth Sense And Its DisordersSehen, Hören, Riechen, Schmecken, Tasten – und der sechste Sinn, nämlich die Körperwahrnehmung, erlauben eine umfassende Interaktion mit der Umgebung. Doch welche physiologischen Strukturen sind eigentlich für den Körpersinn relevant, und welche Testungen sind geeignet? Wir erläutern die Bedeutung der Propriozeption in der Pathologie bei Bewegungsstörungen und stellen hierfür zunehmend eingesetzte Optionen der neurorehabilitativen Therapie vor.
Abstract
Vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch – and the sixth sense, the perception of one’s own body, allow for comprehensive interaction with our surroundings. This article provides an overview of physiological structures and diagnostic methods relevant for proprioception. In addition, the contribution of the proprioceptive function to the pathology of sensorimotoric disorders is described, and associated therapeutic approaches in neurorehabilitation are addressed.
