Milchglasherde in der Lunge können auf ein Adenokarzinom hinweisen. Anhand konventioneller CT-Aufnahmen zwischen präinvasiven und invasiven Karzinomen zu unterscheiden ist präoperativ aber nicht immer möglich. Doch in Aufnahmen der kontrastmittelgestützten Dual-Source-Dual-Energy-CT zeigen sich signifikante Unterschiede, wie Yang et al. mit einer retrospektiven Studie zeigen konnten.
