Akute Augeninnendruckentgleisungen stellen einen augenärztlichen Notfall dar. Symptome wie einseitiger Kopf- bzw. Augenschmerz bei gerötetem Auge und Übelkeit bis hin zu Erbrechen müssen immer an einen „Glaukomanfall“ denken lassen. Nur die rechtzeitige Diagnose und unverzügliche Therapieeinleitung können die Beschwerden des Patienten lindern und vor einer bleibenden Beeinträchtigung des Sehvermögens durch eine irreparable Sehnervenschädigung bewahren.
