Vitamin D in der Prävention von Typ-2-Diabetes?!

Zusammenfassung

Aktuelle Studien zeigen einen Zusammenhang zwischen unzureichender Versorgung mit Vitamin D und einem erhöhten Risiko für das metabolische Syndrom sowie die Progression vom Prädiabetes zum manifesten Typ-2-Diabetes. Ein Vitamin-D-Mangel erhöht die Insulinresistenz und verringert die Insulinsekretion der Betazellen im Pankreas. Von einer Supplementierung profitieren v. a. Patienten mit einem ausgeprägten Mangel.
