Mehr als ein Drittel der Kinder kommen in Deutschland nach Schwangerschaftswoche 40 + 0 auf die Welt. Der folgende Beitrag wägt das Vorgehen bei Terminüberschreitung auf Basis eines integrativen Literaturreviews ab, erläutert Ursachen und Risiken und zeigt auf, warum abwartendes Verhalten eine sinnvolle Alternative zur steigenden Zahl an Geburtseinleitungen sein kann.
