ABSTRACT
A new entity: persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD), replacing well-known conditions like phobic postural vertigo or chronic subjective dizziness, has been added to the eleventh version of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) of the World Health Organization (WHO). This new diagnosis term is the result of a intention to simplify the diagnostic criteria for all clinicians in the field of non-organic dizziness syndromes. The presented review offers a quick insight into the available literature on PPPD and its precursors so far. However, further research is required to improve our understanding of the complexity of this syndrome.
