Der obere Aerodigestivtrakt ist mit endoskopischen Methoden gut zugänglich. Die Entwicklung moderner endoskopisch bildgebender Verfahren (EBV) hat dazu beigetragen, Tumorerkrankungen im oberen Aerodigestivtrakt frühzeitig zu entdecken und minimalinvasiv, onkologisch wirksam sowie funktionserhaltend zu behandeln. Damit wird ein gutes onkologisches Ergebnis bei Erhalt der Lebensqualität und Reduzierung der Mortalität und Komplikationsrate erreicht.

Kernaussagen
  • Mit modernen endoskopisch bildgebenden Verfahren (EBV) können Tumorerkrankungen im oberen Aerodigestivtrakt frühzeitig entdeckt und minimalinvasiv behandelt werden – onkologisch wirksam und funktionserhaltend.

  • Horizontale Verfahren erlauben die Inspektion größerer Schleimhautflächen auf der Suche nach dysplasie- bzw. tumorverdächtigen Arealen. Sie können auch als Screeningverfahren eingesetzt werden.

  • Vertikale Verfahren dienen der gezielten Untersuchung der Tiefenausdehnung, Infiltrationscharakteristika und Dignitätsabklärung einer zuvor entdeckten Läsion.

  • Zelluläre Verfahren beschäftigen sich mit der Erkennung zellulärer Veränderungen in vivo.

  • Da die verschiedenen Verfahren unterschiedliche Vor- und Nachteile aufweisen, empfiehlt sich die Kombination mehrerer endoskopischer Verfahren.
