Abstract
There is increasing evidence that myosonography can be employed as a screening method to show muscular changes in neuromuscular disorders. The ultrasonographic detection of fasciculations already plays an important role in the diagnostic work-up of ALS. The morphological evaluation of muscles can be used as a screening method in patients with myopathies and myositis; in this context the distribution of pathological muscles is crucial.
